Pune, India, July 31st 2001: ADI
Software Technologies, a key player in the
development of mobile and wireless applications
today announced their plans to partner with
Lucent Technologies, Malaysia to provide
total Mobile Internet Solutions to customers
in the Asia Pacific, Europe and North America.
Key objectives of the strategic partnership
will include integration of ADI's applications
with Lucent's network infrastructure and
jointly identifying product differentiators
using mobile technologies from each company.
The partnership also seeks to explore the
development of new mobile applications for
2.5G and 3G technologies.
More significantly, cellular operators
in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America
will be offered a single point of sourcing
total mobile Internet solutions, particularly
in the GSM, GPRS and CDMA environment through
the partnership.
Largely seen as yet another instance of
convergence, of Telecommunications with
the Mobile Internet, the partnership will
offer customers the best of skill sets in
the Mobile Internet space. While Lucent
brings to the table its vast experience
in supplying telecommunication network and
Internet gateway technologies, ADI brings
years of development and deployment expertise
in the Mobile Internet applications space.
Commenting on the potential opportunities
that the partnership brings, Timothy Clark,
Director at Lucent's Regional Technical
Centre in Kuala Lumpur, said "We are impressed
by ADI's skills and experience in the
wireless application development, specifically
in building location based applications
and wireless instant messaging solutions.
The applications integrate with and enhance
our infrastructure and allow us to provide
a more complete Mobile Internet solution
to wireless operators deploying our third
generation wireless networks"
At ADI, Raj S. Chainani, CEO, said "Partnering

to mobile service providers. The partnership
allows us to proactively integrate our solutions
with Lucent's infrastructure and we've found
